The piano virtuoso Lang Lang will be in concert on Sunday June 25, 2023, at the Seine Musicale, as part of his The Disney Book tour, to celebrate 100 years of The Walt Disney Company. In this musical journey, you can rediscover iconic film melodies, reinvented with unique interpretations.
In 1937, Walt Disney dedicated his third feature film to classical composers in Fantasia. 85 years later, Lang Lang takes up the challenge of the American director and fulfills the dream of the “disneyphile” public: to popularize classical music among Disney film lovers. After Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations in 2020, the pianist tackled a huge section of popular culture. This double album, released on September 16, was one of the most difficult for the star of the classical scene to achieve: Lang Lang explains that he had to address a large audience, not necessarily accustomed to classical music. . The album's first single is a fan-favorite song and nothing less than Walt Disney's favorite song, "Feed the Birds," from the Mary Poppins soundtrack.
