Harry Styles, full name Harry Edward Styles, born February 1, 1994 in Redditch, England, is a British singer, songwriter and actor.

In 2010, he auditioned as a soloist in the TV singing competition The X Factor, but was eliminated. He then returned with four other participants (Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson) to form the internationally successful boys band One Direction.

In 2017, he launched his solo career and released his first album: Harry Styles.

Harry Edward Styles was born on February 1, 1994 in Redditch, Worcestershire, son of Anne Cox and Desmond "Des" Styles. He has an older sister, Gemma. His ancestors were mainly farmers (ploughmen) based in County Norfolk.

While Harry is still a baby, his family moves to Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, where he grows up. When he is 7 years old, his parents divorce and his father leaves the family home; his mother will later remarry Robin Twist who will raise him all his childhood. The latter dies in June 2017 at the age of 57 from cancer. At the age of 16, he worked part-time at the "W." Bakery. Mandeville Bakery in Holmes Chapel.

Harry attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School as a teenager where he sang in a band called White Eskimo and won his school's "Battle of the Bands". Before auditioning for X Factor, he was going to take the A-level exam in "law-sociology-business" and was considering becoming a physiotherapist.
